When calling 911 please keep in mind...
Remain calm. Although emergencies are very stressful, it is important for you to stay calm, so the
dispatcher can get you the help you need, as soon as possible.
Give the dispatcher the location of the emergency, your phone number and name, as well as
any key details that emergency crews may need to know so they can
get to you if you are in an area that is hard to access.
Remember that if you are calling 911 from a cell phone, the dispatcher will not know
where you are located. Tell the dispatcher the town, street and cross-streets or mile markers,
and the address of where you are.
Let the dispatcher know what the problem is so that he or she can send out the kind of help you need.
Answer the dispatcher's questions, and listen carefully to any instructions you are given.
