Back to Meeting & Community Info MINUTES MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE GOLDEN VALLEY FIRE DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD TO BE HELD AUGUST 16, 2007, AT 7:00 P.M. AT THE GOLDEN VALLEY FIRE DISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE, LOCATED AT 3327 N MAYER ROAD, GOLDEN VALLEY, ARIZONA. Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Golden Valley Fire District and to the general public that the Golden Valley Fire District Governing Board held a special meeting open to the public on August 16, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. in the Golden Valley Fire District Administrative Office, located at 3327 N Mayer Road, Golden Valley, Arizona 86413 The Governing Board may, by motion and public majority vote, recess into executive session(s) to receive legal advice from the Board’s attorney(s) on any item contained in this agenda pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.03.A.3.
The MINUTES for the meetings are as follows: 1. Call to Order. Steve Galner, Chairman called the meeting to order at approximately 7:00 p.m. 2. Roll Call of Board Members. Lucky Anderson, Steve Galner, Chairman, and Vic Colvin were present. Brad Armey and Marc Frederick were not present. At this point Steve Galner announced to the public that there would be no public discussion or Call to the Public. 3. New Business A. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Authorizing Interim Fire Chief to seek an injunction against workplace harassment against a resident of Golden Valley Fire District for the benefit of administrative personnel. Steve Galner asked Chief Barboa what this was all about. Chief Barboa explained this was about an ex-employee, Trish Ford, coming into the Administrative office on August 14th around 4:00 p.m. to pick up materials she had requested previously. As she came in she expressed her concerns (using foul language) about her name and address being posted on the agenda which has been our policy for the past year according to the County Attorney’s office. She then proceeded to use foul language waving her arms and pointing toward B.J. Kasso, our office manager. Chief Barboa informed the members of the board that statements regarding the incident had been submitted ty the personnel who were present at the time of the occurrence, and that he and the County Attorney felt that there were grounds to seek an injunction against workplace harassment against Trish Ford. Chief Barboa requested permission from the board to seek the injunction. Steve Galner asked what department properties the injunction will cover, and Chief Barboa explained that the injunction will cover all department facilities and personnel. Vic Colvin made the motion to allow Chief Barboa to seek the injunction against workplace harassment, Lucky Anderson 2nd, all present in favor. 4. Adjournment: Vic Colvin made the motion to adjourn at approximately 7:04 p.m., Steve Galner 2nd, all present in favor.
